Heat and Trending
Heat is Chatito’s ranking for Trending on CEX and DEX. It’s a 0-100 attention score for research: “worth watching,” not a raw top-gainers list, and not a promise of edge.
Product language only: score, liquidity, move, activity, freshness. We don’t name data vendors here or in the app.
What Heat Is For
| Use | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Focus | Surface markets/pools that look tradeable and interesting, not only loud |
| Scout / invent | Trending rows can feed AI Lab Scout and invent context |
| Modes | Re-weight the same factors for different research goals |
| Not | A guaranteed alpha signal, a price prediction, or financial advice |
Practice still needs sample. Heat is step 1. Discover in the research loop.
How a Score Is Built (Both Venues)
- Collect a universe of candidates (thin books/pools filtered or penalized).
- Normalize several factors to a 0-1 range.
- Combine them with mode weights.
- Apply penalties (for example manic chaos on a weak book).
- Map to heat 0-100, sort, show the board.
Exact weights and floors are product internals and can change. What stays stable is the factor vocabulary and mode intent.
CEX Heat
Where: CEX terminal → Trending.
What is ranked: Spot-style symbols for CEX research.
Factors (Public)
| Factor | In plain English |
|---|---|
| Liquidity | How much volume the book carries. Thin books rank poorly. |
| Move | Size of recent price change. |
| Activity | How busy the market is (when we have trade intensity). |
| Range quality | Prefer a real path through the session, not empty noise. |
| Freshness | Newer listings or volume surges can lift heat when enriched. |
| Breadth | Reserved for multi-venue signals later; may sit near zero today. |
Modes (CEX)
| Mode | Intent |
|---|---|
| Balanced | Default blend |
| Liquid | Prefer deep books |
| Active | Prefer move + activity |
| Fade | Prefer downside energy over pure upside rockets (still needs liquidity) |
Penalties You May Feel
- Huge moves on a weak book can be down-ranked (not celebrated).
- Famous large caps with almost no move are not “trending” just because they’re famous.
- Candidates below a product minimum may drop off the board.
UI “why” chips explain the story in product language.
DEX Heat
Where: DEX terminal → Trending.
What is ranked: On-chain pools / tokens (with chain chips and search).
Factors (Public)
| Factor | In plain English |
|---|---|
| Liquidity | Pool depth (and a soft blend of volume). |
| Move | Recent percentage energy. |
| Activity | Trade count intensity when present. |
| Path quality | Multi-horizon structure instead of a single noisy spike. |
| Freshness | Newer pools (stronger under Fresh mode). |
| Buy pressure | Buy vs sell balance (energy, not a moral “buy” signal). |
Modes (DEX)
| Mode | Intent |
|---|---|
| Balanced | Default blend |
| Liquid | Prefer deeper pools |
| Active | Prefer move + activity |
| Fresh | Prefer newer listings |
| Fade | Prefer downside energy posture (still needs depth) |
DEX-Specific Notes
- Floors are lower in absolute dollars than CEX (pools ≠ exchange books), but thin junk is still filtered.
- Chain filters limit the universe (for example Solana, Base, Ethereum, and other supported chains).
- Invent and Scientist on DEX stay DEX-only. See DEX Terminal.
Heat vs Raw Gainers
| Raw % gainers | Chatito Heat |
|---|---|
| Sorts by one move number | Blends liquidity, quality, activity, freshness, … |
| Celebrates thin rockets | Often penalizes manic thin books |
| Easy to game with noise | Built for strategy-usable attention |
| Same list for everyone | Modes change research posture |
How to Use Heat Well
- Pick a mode that matches what you’re hunting.
- Open a row into Charts or Scout when you want depth.
- Invent or create practice strategies - rank #1 is not a trade instruction.
- Boards refresh; compare over time.
What We Keep Private
