Wallets
This page is about which wallet to use on Chatito, and what each wallet can actually Sign.
It is not a ranking of brands. Wallets change. Trust the Sign sheet in the app if this page and the screen disagree.
Practice needs no wallet. You can run CEX and DEX paper books from a Google, email, or Telegram login.
Three Different Jobs
People mix these up. A wallet that is fine for login is not automatically fine for Heat-scan automation.
| Job | What you need |
|---|---|
| Login / link | Any common EVM extension, or Phantom / Solflare for Solana. A signature proves the address. Chatito never asks for a seed. |
| Named-pair Smart Policy | Any common EVM wallet that can approve Permit2 and send a normal transaction. MetaMask works. Rabby works. |
| Heat-scan Chatito Agent | A wallet that will sign EIP-7702 to Chatito's implementation (a type-4 authorization). Not the vendor's own smart account. |
CEX Live is different again: trade-only exchange API keys, not these wallets. See Custody and Keys.
What Chatito Agent Is (and Is Not)
Chatito Agent is the on-chain implementation a wallet can attach so Heat-scan books on DEX and LP share one EIP-7702 pointer. Tokens still stay in your wallet. It is a Smart Policy instance, not a vault.
It is not:
- MetaMask's built-in Smart account (that pointer is MetaMask's, not Chatito's)
- The named-pair DEX Executor / LP Executor (those stay Permit2, no 7702)
- A reason to send tokens to a contract address
MetaMask will not attach Chatito Agent. It only authorizes MetaMask's own Smart account. Turning Smart account off does not fix that.
Rabby cannot attach Chatito Agent yet.
If the app still lets MetaMask Sign LP Heat, that is a separate policy path (not Chatito Agent). Named-pair books stay on the Executors for every wallet.
What We Recommend
| If you want… | Use |
|---|---|
| First hour, Practice only | No wallet. Trade For Me or Create Strategy. |
| CEX Live later | Trade-only API keys in Settings. Wallet optional. |
| One named pair on DEX or LP | MetaMask, Rabby, or another common EVM wallet. |
| Heat-scan automation (Chatito Agent) | A wallet the Sign sheet accepts for type-4 to Chatito. Not MetaMask. Not Rabby today. |
| Solana identity | Phantom (preferred if both are installed) or Solflare. |
| Less blast radius | A dedicated automation wallet, not the vault you cannot replace. |
Do not paste a seed or a main-wallet private key into Chatito. Linking is Sign-In with Ethereum (EVM) or Sign-In with Solana.
Multiple Wallets
Settings → Wallets can link more than one address (EVM + Solana).
- The header shows the wallet connected in this browser session.
- Sign sheets use that connected wallet, not every linked address.
- A Smart Policy stays on the wallet that opened it. Switching the header does not move the grant.
- Unlink is on the same Settings page.
In-app: Help → How To Use Multiple Wallets.
Batch Sign
Some flows (approve + open grant, or a multi-step plan) prefer one confirm (wallet_sendCalls). Wallets that do not support that fall back to one confirm per step. Both are valid. Neither is a vault.
Hard Rules
- Never send tokens or NFTs to an Executor or Agent address.
- Grant is not Live. Live is a separate human switch.
- Agent API keys cannot open, revoke, or arm a Smart Policy.
- Exact wallet capability can change with an extension update. The Sign sheet is source of truth.
